Last updated: March 29, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CollegePilot (collegepilot.app) operated by CollegePilot ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be legally bound by them. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

CollegePilot is an AI-powered college application platform that provides:

  • Personalized college list recommendations based on your academic profile.
  • AI-assisted essay drafting, feedback, and revision tools.
  • Extracurricular activity tracking and presentation guidance.
  • An AI chat advisor that provides contextual, personalized guidance throughout your application process.
  • A searchable college database with admissions statistics and deadlines.
  • Application progress tracking and reporting tools.

The Service is intended as a supplementary resource to help students organize and improve their college applications. It does not guarantee admission to any institution.

3. Accounts and Registration

You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@collegepilot.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not share your account credentials, create accounts on behalf of others without authorization, or maintain more than one account per person.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

Access to premium features requires a paid subscription. We currently offer:

  • Monthly Plan: $10.00 per month, billed monthly.
  • Annual Plan: $96.00 per year ($8.00/month equivalent), billed annually.

All prices are in US dollars and are exclusive of any applicable taxes. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to premium features until the outstanding balance is resolved.

Refunds: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers. If you are not satisfied within 7 days of your first payment, contact us at support@collegepilot.app for a full refund. After 7 days, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading information to AI features or your academic profile.
  • Use the Service to generate content intended to deceive admissions officers or commit academic fraud.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or our team members.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these acceptable use standards.

6. AI-Generated Content and Limitations

We will not use your essays or personal academic data in marketing materials or share them with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COLLEGEPILOT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR COLLEGE ADMISSION OUTCOME AS A RESULT OF USING THE SERVICE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COLLEGEPILOT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CollegePilot and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request deletion of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 of these Terms survive any termination.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be addressed through informal negotiation by contacting us at support@collegepilot.app.

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction located in San Francisco County, California to prevent irreparable harm.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CollegePilot regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
